EAGLE South Mountain Announces New Principal for 26-27 School Year!

Dear EAGLE South Mountain Families, 

It is with excitement that we share an important leadership update with our school community. Mrs. Erendira Carrasco will be joining EAGLE South Mountain as our new principal beginning July 1, 2026. 

As we prepare for this next chapter, we first want to express our gratitude to Mrs. Hancock for her leadership, dedication, and service over the past five years. Through her commitment to our scholars, families, and staff, EAGLE South Mountain has strengthened its academic programs, school culture, and vision for excellence. Her leadership has made a lasting impact on our community, and we are thankful for the foundation she has helped build.  

Mrs. Carrasco brings extensive educational leadership experience, including serving as a K–8 principal within the South Mountain community and as a special education director. Having grown up in the South Mountain community herself, she brings both a deep personal connection and proven professional excellence to this role. Throughout her career, she has demonstrated strong success in student achievement, instructional leadership, staff development, and fostering positive school cultures. Her deep understanding of our community, combined with her commitment to strong schools, high expectations, and continuous growth, uniquely prepares her to lead EAGLE South Mountain. She is dedicated to ensuring every scholar has access to a safe, supportive, and high-quality educational experience as our school enters its next phase of success.  

Mrs. Carrasco will be on campus Monday, May 11, visiting with staff, scholars, and classrooms as she begins connecting with our school community. She will also be present during dismissal to greet families, helping parents and guardians begin building connections and familiarity with her as our new school leader. 

We are also excited to invite families to an in-person Meet and Greet with Mrs. Carrasco on Wednesday, June 10 at 6:30 PM. Additional details regarding this event will be shared during the last week of May. 

Please join us in welcoming Mrs. Carrasco to the EAGLE South Mountain community while also celebrating and honoring the work and lasting legacy of Mrs. Hancock.
